Pratt and Whitney Aircraft Division; housed in a single factory area in Hartford, Conn., leased from Pratt & Whitney Company, a prominent machine tool manufacturer, and thus company name was acquired (no corporate association between with two companies); later expanded to East Hartford, Conn., which became headquarters for the organization)
