Computer Design and Architecture, 1985, 1985
Scope and Contents
Document Type: Textbook (Technical).
Purpose: Training and Education.
Authority: Author Expertise.
Scope (from Preface):
"Books on digital systems architecture fall into four categories: logic design books that cover the hardware logic design in detail but fail to provide the details of computer hardware design; books on computer organization that deal with the computer hardware from a programmer's point of view; books on computer hardware design that are suitable for an electrical engineering course in hardware design; and books on computer systems architecture that are very high level treatments of computer architecture with no detailed treatment of hardware design. I have tried to gather the important attributes of the four categories of books to come up with a comprehensive text on hardware and software aspects of digital computers."
