Microcomputers for Engineers and Scientists, 1980, 1980

 Item — Special Collection: MC-19, Book: 032, Call No.: QA 76.5 .G49
Identifier: 20061130

Scope and Contents

Document Type: Textbook (Technical).

Purpose: Training and Education.

Authority: Author Expertise.

Scope (from Preface): "This book represents an attempt made by two computer engineers to solve this problem in the area of digital electronics applications that are complicated enough to justify the use of microprocessors. The book is designed for scientists and engineers who wish to acquire an overall knowledge of microcomputers and hardware designers who need to understand microcomputer programming."

"This book concentrates on the 8-bit microprocessors, although it does have one chapter on 16-bit processors and another on bit-sliced architectures. When presenting the fundamentals of computer programming and design, it makes little difference how much data the processor can access at a time. Larger computers can be used in more complex situations and are associated with new concepts such as multiprogramming, but the basic concepts remain the same."
