Scope: This book was produced (written and illustrated) and published in 1980 by Paul R. Matt for readers interested in the history of American aviation, especially model builders. It was edited by Kenn C. Rust and Thomas G. Foxworth.

The book includes articles about specific airplanes, as well as other biographical and historical information related to aviation. Each article consists of pages of text and photographs and two or more pages of detailed three-view or four-view scale drawings of the aircraft from the top / bottom view(s) and side view(s).

The front cover includes a full-color photograph of the North American AT-6A "Texan".

Cover Photograph: Completely restored and refurbished North American AT-6A, the three year accomplishment of John and Susan Harrison of Sacramento, California. The plane is indeed a rare "Texan", bearing serial 3962, the 5th of its type built-completed 10-31-40. John won the Experimental Aircraft Association's Grand Champion Warbird Trophy with it in 1977. It is authentic except for deletion of armament and modern instrumentation. The color scheme is that of a check-out trainer with the 94th "Hat-in-the-Ring" Pursuit Squadron from Selfridge Field, Mich. It's the way the Six' looked forty years earlier. EAA Photo by Ted Koston

Perfect-bound 8.5" x 11" booklet with multi-colored cardstock covers (96 pages plus covers). Printed on semi-glossy paper. Includes numerous scale drawings and black & white photographs and charts.

Note: Overall fine condition with minor cover nicks. Minor browning of paper.
