Scope and Contents

Document Type: Advertisement.

Purpose: Sales and marketing.

Authority: Company (Services).

Scope: This highly illustrated advertising brochure was created and distributed by the Curtiss-Wright Flying Service to advertise its air taxi service, specifically for hunters and fishermen.

Contents: The brochure uses words and pictures to promote the advantages of flying into remote hunting or fishing camps. It lists hunting season dates for Alabama, Arizona, California, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and Washington (state).

From the fourth fold page: "This season, plan the journey to your favorite hunting grounds or fishing retreat by airplane -- the convenient, swift, modern way.

Time is no longer a handicap. If your destination is some remote camp, Curtiss will carry you there with airplanes, flying boats, or amphibion flying yachts, in a matter of hours which might require days by a less direct route.

Curtiss Flying Service, the "world's oldest flying organization," is nation-wide--at your service anywhere, any time. For eighteen years Curtiss has been patronized by sportsmen.

Planes are available in size from two to ten passengers--at rates more economical than you might expect. The charge is levied on the type of equipment chartered and not on the number of passengers carried. Therefore, your party may be as large as the capacity of the plane will permit without additional fare."
