Scope: Full-color lithographic print from an original painting by artist George Akimoto (later Chief Illustrator at McDonnell Douglas). He was a longtime illustrator for Douglas Aircraft Company creating technical and promotional works. Work was likely done in the late 1950s, as similar works are from 1958.
Contents: Depicts a National Airlines Douglas DC-7 in flight over what is likely Miami Beach.
Note: This print came from the Douglas Aircraft Company, Long Beach, CA and was given to the donor in the 1960s. It likely came from company engineering offices and was disposed of during construction/renovation of the facility.
