- Issue No. 5 (May 1959, 12 pages): "This issue of The Scout sets the stage for the quarter century story. This issue covers the pre-Menasco Manufacturing Company era. It highlights the efforts of A. L. Menasco and others as they built airplane engines in a garage in Beverly Hills and in the McKinley Street factory as Menasco Motors. As you will note in the Menasco Guide, the first inverted in-line airplane engine in the world, a four cylinder, 95 horse power, Model A4 is displayed in the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D. C. This issue pictorially and by printed word weaves the names and planes that made aviation history. Mr. Dunbar spent long hours in research to bring you the Menasco story. Format & Physical Description
Stapled 8.5” x 11” periodicals (with between 8 and 24 pages per issue including color semi-glossy covers). Printed on uncoated paper, except the June 1959 issue printed on semi-glossy paper. Includes black & white photographs, charts and drawings. Staples have been removed.
Note: Minor wear and tear.
