Subject Source: TGM II, Genre and physical characteristic terms
Scope Note: SCOPE: Catalogs issued by manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers or dealers to present multiple lines of products for sale. Target audience is generally people, businesses, organizations or government agencies in "the trade" (i.e. a specific profession or industry). NOTE: for catalogs whose target audience is the general public or a broader swath of businesses, use "Sales catalogs").

They usually have illustrations and textual descriptions of items for sale. Usually printed, but may include audio, video or digital material.

Often include prices. When made available to both individuals and organizations (i.e. "the trade), wholesale prices may be coded or in a separate list (note: If prices are separate, annotate using the "Price List" genre/form subject).
