Scope Note: SCOPE: Documents that contain instructions for the installation, operation, use, or maintenance of equipment or systems, including parts lists, and technical support. // NOTE: In an aeronautical or aerospace context, the term "technical data" includes: approved operating manuals, maintenance manuals, other technical manuals and bulletins, technical drawings and some aeronautical and aerospace records. Technical data consists of engineering data, drawings, decriptions and procedures that have been approved by the manufacturer, civil or military authority, or other authorized entity for use by aircrew or technicians building, installing, retro-fitting, upgrading, operating, or maintaining aeronautical and aerospace vehicles and equipment. Since the early days of aviation, the use of current and approved technical data is often encouraged or required.
